Yes, there are some people who make their living by gambling. Some make over a $100,000 a year this way. But before you pack up the family, quit your job and move to Vegas, here are some things to consider.

Any game that is beatable takes tremendous skill. Whether it is poker, blackjack, sports betting, horse betting, pai gow poker or video poker, you will need to invest a lot of time and money in learning the strategies cold. Getting experience is often critical and getting that experience may cost you lots of real money in the short run.

Remember that games like roulette, craps, Let It Ride, Caribbean stud, keno and others, are almost never beatable in the long run.
