ITEMS FOR MAKING HERBAL REMEDIES
You don't need a lot when you decide to make your own herbal remedies. Most remedies are no different than making yourself a glass of tea, requiring little more effort than that. Here is a list of things you can use, both necessary and supplemental. The first items will do for any infusions or decoctions, and the other items are for more involved herbal preparations.
Necessary Items:
- Herbs (fresh from the garden, fresh from the store, or dried)
- Stainless steel pan (to boil in)
- Measuring spoons and cups
- Straining sieve or cheesecloth
- Mineral or purified water
Supplemental Items:
- New, clean or sterilized bottles or jars
- Blender or mortar and pestle or rolling pin
- Some kind of 60 proof alcohol, like vodka or brandy
- Olive oil
- A variety of essential oils (bought or homemade)
